We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Category Manager – CAPEX Construction to join a leading global industrial organization in Ludvika. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for construction and capital expenditure projects, ensuring the business has access to the right suppliers, capabilities, and capacity to support both current and future growth.
Working in a global matrix organization, you will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions and regions while driving supplier performance, commercial excellence, and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, industry trends, and best practices within the CAPEX construction sector.
Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier identification, evaluation, selection, negotiations, and contract management.
Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term procurement goals.
Ensure supplier selection is based on quality, delivery performance, cost competitiveness, sustainability, and capability requirements.
Manage procurement planning, cost budgets, spend analysis, savings initiatives, and forecasting activities.
Implement effective sourcing strategies through continuous improvement methodologies and strategic supplier management.
Minimize commercial, financial, and quality-related risks through robust contracting practices and compliance with corporate policies.
Adapt global contractual frameworks to local business requirements where appropriate.
Maintain ongoing supplier governance, performance monitoring, and contract administration.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), regulatory, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support successful project delivery.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within large-scale CAPEX construction or industrial investment projects.
Strong understanding of technical procurement categories related to capital projects, including construction services, building systems, process equipment, and technical contractors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and MS Project.
Experience working with SAP Ariba or similar procurement platforms.
Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Swedish and/or additional languages are considered an advantage.
Meritorious: Previous experience within large international engineering, energy, infrastructure, or industrial organizations.
