Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Taxonomist to help evolve and maintain taxonomies that enhance content discovery and organization across their platform. This role requires expertise in book publishing industry schemas (BISAC, Thema) and a strong background in metadata management. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design flexible classification models that cater to a global audience.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize taxonomies for organizing digital content, including audiobooks and podcasts.
• Collaborate with internal teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure taxonomy alignment with business needs.
• Design and implement classification models that represent specialized knowledge across different markets and content domains.
• Maintain mappings between datasets to improve metadata accuracy and content discoverability.
• Participate in cross-functional governance groups to oversee taxonomy changes and updates.

Qualifications

• You hold a degree in library or information science.
• You have experience developing taxonomies.
• You have a background in media.
• You have experience using book publishing industry schemas (BISAC, Thema).
• You are familiar with taxonomy management platforms using standards (RDF). 
• You are fluent in English.

Admission and Application

Full time, office hours. You can work fully remote within Sweden. The client plans to start the assignment immediately and expects it to run until 2025-09-01, with the possibility of an extension. You will be employed by JobBusters as a consultant with our exciting client in Stockholm.
